1. Mentor’s Roles
Focus on academic progress, personal development and career guidance.
- Academic Guidance: Monitor performance and attendance; advise on courses, study strategies and time management; identify learning gaps and suggest remedial measures.
- Personal Development: Foster confidence, communication and leadership; encourage goal-setting and participation in co-curricular activities.
- Career Guidance: Help students explore interests and career paths; share information on higher studies, internships and job opportunities; facilitate alumni or industry connections where appropriate.
- Emotional Support & Referral: Provide empathetic listening; maintain privacy; refer serious psychological concerns to professional counsellors.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain notes of mentoring interactions and follow-ups; report issues to the Head of Department or Counselling Cell when necessary.
